Scholarships worth Rs. 5 Crores were given to laudable students of SSN Institutions and Shiv Nadar University, Chennai to trounce over the financial crisis in a joint ceremony. Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, former Vice Chairman and ex-CEO of Cognizant and former Chairman of NASSCOM and ICT Academy graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mr. Srinivasan, Chairman of SSN Institutions and Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University Chennai, Dr. Kala Vijayakumar, President of SSN Institutions and Pro-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University Chennai, Dr. Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya, Vice-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University Chennai, Dr. V. E. Annamalai, Principal of SSN College of Engineering and eminent alumni of SSN Institutions ignited the ceremony.
Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, said that access to quality education will help the youth embrace the transition as he congratulated all the scholarship recipients mentioning his foresight of them leading India’s next phase of growth. He also added that this scholarship will engage the outstanding students to further come up with their dreams whipping out the financial constraints.
Mr. R. Srinivasan, appreciated Mr. Shiv Nadar’s first initiative, the SSN Institutions, which stands at the forefront of education, gaining the utmost trust and reputation among students, parents, and the corporate. He also informed about the world-class education that is brought into the Institution.
Dr. Kala Vijayakumar, elaborated on the vision behind the scholarship which strengthens the initiative in all other areas, and also thanked the beloved alumni and other corporates for helping out in the dynamism.
Since 1999, SSN Institutions have started giving scholarships to deserving students in a variety of categories so that the financial issue doesn’t interrupt the goals of any deserving young talent Over 10,000 students have received scholarships worth Rs. 90 crore to date.
