As a part of ‘SPORTS FOR CHANGE,’ an initiative by the HCL Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility Arm of HCL Technologies has well organized the Kabbadi and Volleyball Tournament at D B Jain College, Chennai. HCL Groups are training underprivileged students and in which this tournament paves the way in motivating their competitive exposure in them. The players were identified at different district, state, zonal and national levels, and they are also ensured with daily training, nutrition, and high-performance camps by the HCL Foundation.
Kabaddi tournament:
- Winners: Chennai Boys’ and Girls’ Team
- Runners-Up: Bengaluru Boys’ and Girls’ Team
Volley Ball Tournament:
- Winners: Madurai Boys’ Team
- Runners-Up: Chennai Boys’ Team
The Winners were felicitated by Mr. T.S. Murugan, Inspector, Kannagi Nagar, Chennai, and Mr. Reegan, Project Manager of Don Bosco Anbu Illam.
HCL Technologies has partnered with Non- Government Organizations and other Development Institutions to pile up talented sportspersons from different communities, including government schools.
SPORTS FOR CHANGE was an excellent initiative launched by the HCL Foundation in 2017, which promotes sports as a part of Education. The cornerstone of the HCL Foundation’s work is the ‘Power of One’ program which primarily focuses on positive urban transformation. Around 27,000 children have benefited through this program and 115 students are supported with sports scholarships under Power of One.
